Operation Teen Parent

Encouragement and Rewards for Young Parents

In conjunction with the Teen Parent program in some Omaha Public Schools, Assistance League Omaha offers incentives to encourage students to complete their high school education. Rewards are presented each quarter to students who have met their educational goals. In 2007, Assistance League members started adding books to the school library. Books provided to the libraries include various topics on successful parenting, as well as age-appropriate books that can be read to the children. A graduation party is held at the end of the year to congratulate all young parents. Scholarships are awarded to students planning to continue their education. $12,500 has been given in scholarships.
